Homework will now be set through Google Classroom for each of our pupils in Classes 2, 3 and 4 and we will no longer use homework books. Miss Smith will provide activities for her children to complete at home through Tapestry. Year 1 parents and new parents – we will create new Google accounts for your children and provide a short guide on accessing Google Classroom to assist you when your child accesses their homework.
Homework will always be set on a Friday and work can be ‘turned in’ (submitted) through Google Classroom on any day until the following Wednesday which is the deadline.
We encourage the children to engage in daily reading in addition to homework. The staff have planned homework activities as consistently as possible and these will be as follows:-
Class 1 – Phonics practice (and daily reading)
Class 2 – Phonics/spellings activity, maths activity (and daily reading)
Class 3 – Spellings activity, times table activity, writing or maths activity (and daily reading)
Class 4 – Spelling activity, grammar/punctuation activity, maths activity (and daily reading)
