Weekly Bulletin

3rd November 2017

Dear Parents,

I hope you have all made it safely to the end of this week, just seven more until the Christmas holidays! An exciting week this week, continuing to next week too with the Class 4 residential.

Class Trips

This week both Class 1 and 3 enjoyed class trips, taking their learning beyond the classroom.

Class 1  visited Harlow Carr Gardens in Harrogate where they explored the gardens finding things of all the colours of Autumn. The children were exceptionally well behaved and had a really fun day.

Class 3 had an amazing time visiting Aldborough Roman site – an amazing attraction right on our door step. Here they handled real life artefacts, dressed up in togas and were given a tour of the Roman site by FORA (Friends of Roman Aldborough).

School visits form an integral part of the children s learning but we can only continue to do these if enough voluntary contributions are made to cover the cost of the visit. Class 1’s visit cost £5 per child and Class 3’s only £3 per child, yet we are still awaiting a number of contributions from parents. Please, if you haven’t done so yet can parents log onto their Parentpay accounts and settle any outstanding balances.

Marrick Residential – Class 4

Next week all our children in Class 4 will be spending the week at Marrick Priory where they will take part in a number of fabulous activities. Children need to arrive at normal time on Monday in warm comfortable clothes to travel in (NO JEANS) and a waterproof coat. Final details will be coming home tonight with the children.

Parents Evenings

Parents’ evenings are taking place on Monday 20th and Tuesday 21st of November- there are still appointments available if you haven’t booked a time to see your child’s teacher yet. Please call the school office where Mrs Jones will be able to advise you on what appointments we have available.

Village Treasure Hunt

Mrs Robinson (Joe in Class 2 and Isla in Class 1’s Mum) has kindly produced a village treasure hunt quiz. These will be available from school week commencing 20th November and completed forms can be returned for the chance to win a prize. More information regarding the treasure hunt will follow in the next bulletin.
