Summer Fayre

The school summer fayre will take place after the sports afternoon on Friday 28thJune on The Green. Join us for an exciting afternoon of fun and games! If you are able to volunteer a short amount of time to run a stall or support in other ways, please see Lynsey Rhodes, Helen Lowe or Katie Livesley. Cake and bun donations can be given to Janey Sharp in the few days leading up to 28th June. Any help from parents who are able to set up stalls towards the end of sports afternoon would be greatly appreciated. We are already in receipt of some amazing raffle prizes – including Race tickets, year-long passes to soft play and many more exciting days out. Raffle tickets were sent home earlier in the week.

Young Voices

We are delighted to announce that we are registered to take part in the Young Voices event at Sheffield Arena on Friday 10th July 2020. Our choir, who are currently busy rehearsing for Aladdin, would welcome more singers to join them and increase the size of our school choir when we return to school in September!

Friday Freeze

F.O.R.C.E.S will be selling Ice Lollies in the playground for 20p on Fridays after school starting from tonight.

New books for our Hive and poster competition!

Many thanks to our librarians who selected and purchased new books from Little Ripon Bookshop this week. They were guided by Jill, the owner of Little Ripon Bookshop, to ensure that we have a selection of rich and engaging texts for all our children across school. The books were bought with funds raised by F.O.R.C.E.S from the Chocolate Bingo and Mothers’ Day events.

The librarians have organised a book poster competition. Our new books will be distributed to each class for our children to enjoy. In the next few weeks, the children will produce a poster at home which promotes the new book they have read and this can be entered in to the book poster competition. The winners of the poster competition will receive a book voucher from Little Ripon Bookshop. Please ensure that you write your name and class on the back of your entry (A4 poster). The deadline for submitting posters to class teachers is Friday 5th July. Get reading… and good luck!

The Great North Author Tour will be taking place at lunchtime on Sat 22nd June at the Little Ripon Bookshop – see our attachment for further details.

Class 3 and Class 4 residential visits 2020

Parents of children who will be in Classes 3 and 4 next year have been notified by email of the two residential visits (East Barnby and Bewerley Park) which will take place in June 2020. A letter was also sent home this week giving more details more about the trip and there will be an information meeting for parents which will be held at school on Tuesday 9th July at 2.45pm and 6pm. If any parents are unable to attend either of these meetings and would like a copy of the information given out, please get in touch with Mrs Jones at the office.
