WEEKLY BULLETIN - 20th June 2018
An extremely busy week here at the ranch; collective worship today was fantastic courtesy of Class 3, Class 4's Charlie and the Chocolate Factory rehearsals are well underway, Class 2 have been scientific investigators, investigating... bubbles! And, Class 1 have been written letters to money-laundering pirates. Always an adventure!
Class 3 Collective Worship
This morning we welcomed parents of class 3 to celebrate their collective worship which was all about ‘Communication’. The children showed off all of their amazing art work and writing and even taught the rest of the school and visitors how to sign the word ‘Hello’ and ‘Thank you for coming’. Our next Class led collective worship will be Class 4 who will be leading collective worship on Tuesday 19th June at 9.10am in the school hall.
Class 4 Trip
Yesterday Miss Atkinson, Mrs Coates and Mrs Caine took Class 4 to the Physics department at York University.
The children looked at the various telescopes they have on their site and spent time in the space-themed classroom. The afternoon was spent in the amazing Cosmodome: an inflatable planetarium where they found out all about our night sky and were able to locate and name different constellations.
Class 3 BrighterKind Visit
Last week class 3 enjoyed another visit to the nursing home. The children and their pen pals took part in a question and answer session which everyone loved. The children learnt a lot about what food the residents used to eat as children as well as what their playground games used to be.
We all have our fingers crossed for good weather on Monday for our annual sports day. We are aiming for a 1.30pm start but would be grateful if any parent helpers could be available from 1.00pm onwards to help move the chairs and benched onto the village green. Mrs Sharp has kindly offered to run the refreshment stall serving tea, coffee, cakes & treats and ice lollies will be available after school for £1.00. We also have a small number of Roecliffe Tea towels that will also be available so if you missed out before the Royal Wedding you have a second chance to grab one.
