Year 5/6 Languages Experience
Next week, myself, Mrs Holloway, and Miss Atkinson will be taking 12 of our Year 5/6 pupils to France, for a 3-day language immersion programme near to Boulogne. During this time, we will be visiting a French primary school, a chocolate factory, a creperie, tasting local delicacies at the snail farm, and comparing and contrasting Boulogne with York. This will be run alongside the same programme for the children not visiting France, so all of the Year 5 and 6 take part in the 3-day language immersion. It will be the second time we have taken a visit overseas, and we feel this reflects the exciting and engaging curriculum we have available to our pupils at Roecliffe.

Class 2 Collective Worship 27th June 9.10-9.40am
Parents of Class 2 children are welcome to join us for their class-led worship on Tuesday in the school hall. Class collective worships are always a wonderful was for the children to express themselves and we look forward to seeing as many parents there as possible.
The road across running across our layby will be closed until repairs can be made to two sink holes. The road is closed apart from access for residents. Please can we remind parents not to use this road to drop off or pick up children. There we a few incidents this morning where cars were using the road to drop off and then performing three point turns to then leave the road. This is not only dangerous for our children but can result in cars getting stuck and causing a jam in the road. The Road closed sign will be move to the middle of the road in a morning and at the end of the day. Please support us in keeping our children safe by not using this road.
Just a reminder that during these hot months please can parents ensure their children have sun screen applied before they arrive for school and water bottle with them. Children are also welcome to wear sandals to school in the summer months. To cool down on a Friday after school, as mentioned in our previous newsletter, we will be selling ice lollies in the playground for £1.00
I hope you all have a good weekend.
